Plastic is not good for...

well, water heaters. Got a 105 gallon plastic water heater about 10 or so years ago and dad said it wouldn't be any
good. He was kind of right, went to the milk house this morning and water pouring out the side of it. Turns out the
thermostat didn't kick off the heat elements and made the glue fail around the heat element mount. So a 15 dollar part
made it cost over a thousand. But hey, its all part of farming! LOL

Around here, The people that sell the plastic water heaters will not install them, of at least not warranty them in milk houses. They will stand up just fine in a house , with 125 degree water, but not where the water needs to be 160. I've hade one in the house for 20 years with no problem. The neighbor wants one in his milk house. He is on his 3rd one in 7 years

Read the warranty carefully and tell us what the exclusions are.
Actually, that water heater is made by a single company, not Rheem, and a bunch of different names are slapped on it.

We put several in milkhouses and they held up just as well as anything else. Late 90's or so the power co was handing out rebates, lots of farmers took advantage.

Be glad you got 10 years out. They don't last forever, especially if you have hard water. The milkhouse world is hard environment for them.
