Looking at an IH 806. Above average condition. Never repainted. looks like always shedded. Wide front. One good rear tire, other one 25% left. Front tires above average. 3800 hrs. on non working tach. starts right up, looks like new batters.good seat. steering tight.no cab. What is the going prices out there? good and bad issues with this model??

You might ask if the TA has been replaced or overhauled. They had an average life of about 3,000 hours. Also, I believe the 06's developed some shifting problems. You might want to check real close on how it shifts, particularly into reverse.

On the other hand, my father-in-law once owned an 806 that he bought new in the day and never had a bit of problems with it. It was a great tractor. He eventually traded it for a new 1066 because he wanted a cab.

Going price for a straight, original unit would be probably in the $6,000 to $8,000 range, depending on how good you are a haggling, taking tires into consideration.

Biggest problem with the 06 series was the shifting mechanism. Mostly going into reverse. If it shifts good with no problems and the TA if it has one is good then might be good tractor. Seems a bit high to me,though I am cheap.

Assuming that there are no obvious problems such as with the TA and shifting probably 5,300-6,000 dollars. I am starting to see prices on a fair amount of things sagging somewhat but how much that will affect an 806 who knows.
