my allis chalmers wd in work clothes

I know how much we all like seeing pictures. So I took my wd out for a ride today and snapped a few photos. I painted my c all up and rebuilt the engine and replaced tires, but this one I think i'm going to leave it like it is. She's got character!!! Enjoy! -Donald

barnyardorange,

Nice - very sharp!! We love 'em in their work clothes. :)
Excellent photos by the way.

Will show my husband tonight... he will like this old girl.
He's always said if he ever bought an AC, it would be a WD.

I always liked the WD's. As a kid I probably spent as much time on a WD as any other tractor. Now I have a D19, but it's in the area of being just a workhorse tractor, nothing special.

I have a1938 JD G my dad and uncle bought new from the JD dealer in Enumclaw, Washington. Still runs good but he always said he liked to see the old tractors in their "work clothes" so I have hesitated to paint it up. I think it is also interesting to see the old tractors with the farmer modifications, some good and some bad, but all for a reason the farmer knew at the time.

Like I tell everybody else with painted up tractors, they don't run any better painted up as they do in work clothes!!

I like that look, very nice. Anyone can have a parade queen, only Mother Nature and Father Time can do that look.

Yea it sounds pretty good. I bought it from a guy that had it sitting in an old shed in the woods. The rust is like surface rust from the
moisture in the shed. I wish it had the battery box still on it when I got it. The rt rear rim I replaced with a (good) used one. Still have
to do the left rear rim.

It's yours and you can have it any way you want it, but any old tractor I ever had and liked sooner or later I eventually cleaned up and painted it to look as much like it did when it was new as I could....original paint, no high priced stuff...and then I "played" with it, paraded it and worked it some....gave it my own "patina"...and I never regretted it.......Just make it look original, don't try to trick it up, respect it for what it was. I bet if you did this you'ld never regret it either.......
