New Rural King Store

Went to the ne Rural King store, really impressive, lots bigger than TSC. This location took over a old wallmart, and the prices are better on things that I have been buying from TSC.

I bought some Peletized lime for my yard at rural king.Local hardware store was 18
bucks for 40 pound bag. Rural king was 3.45 per 40 pound.

They're not up here yet. I go to Family Farm and Home more than TSC. They used to be a lot better than TSC,but their selection or bearings, chain, hydraulic parts, ect,is shrinking more and more all the time. Won't be long before you won't be able to tell the difference between the two.

There's a relatively new Big R store at Lima, Ohio that fits this description. Took me a while to find what I was looking for.

Been a rumor going around that they are coming to Grand Rapids (Cutlerville) into the old Kmart Building.
We visit the one in Owensboro KY. when we bowhunt Southern Indiana.

Reminds me of a new "fleet" store I went to in a city of 50,000 some years ago. Needed 48 shovels for a 24 foot field cultivator. Small bin was full, but didn"t have enough for my FC.They"ve gotten better, but I just buy them locally since.

Rural King in Angola, IN has more in stock than all the other farm stores in our 30 mile area combined....I go there for everything now.....

They seem to have started expanding into new areas rapidly. There are now 3 stores around an hour from my house that have just popped up.

Was at Farm King yesterday, Big R today and the Dottir works part time at Tractor Supply.
>Guess I just like browsing ?

That seems to be their thing, move in to an old store of some type....abandoned walmart, Kmart and the like.

Works for me, I'm not big on decor.

In Mt Orab, OH, Krogers built a superstore right next to their old store, the old store has been empty for several years, there's been a barber-shop rumor of Rural
King moving in to the old store.

That rumor's been around for about a year, though, so I'm not holding my breath.

Still, that would be pretty sweet, right on my way to/from work.

Angola is where I also go for feed, fence supplies, horse stuff, bolts, oil and much more. Just picked up the bot wormer for horses last week. They seem to have more baby chicks this year than any year before.
If ya see me in there give a yell. I will most likely be the only one in round house bibs with an Oliver hat. I be parked in the sicky parking with a home made old ugly dorF ton pickup or a purple Chevy SSR.

I've always gone to the Owensboro store until they built a new one in Elizabethtown,Ky last year, about 20 miles closer.
I bought two new 4DLT batteries in the last couple months for my Ford tractors, local they cost $160+, RK list their's for $120 but I got another $12 off for taking in my old batteries making them $108.
I saved $52 on the battery purchase but by the time I left the store my bill was $190, never could go to RK and get just one item, always left with a cart full.

We have one about 25 miles south, right on the MI/IN line, former Walmart or Big Wheel store. The RK isn't really well kept, parking lot looks like an artillery range, but that may be on whoever actually owns the building. Hard to get out of there for under $200 per trip, definitely the best stocked on actual farm goods, plus all the other stuff. Dad always was a sucker for the free popcorn.

Rumor is going around that Rural King is looking for a place in Lancaster, OH for a new store. The closest is in Newark and for us that isn't too far, just far enough that Lancaster would be more convenient, since we do all our other shopping there. There are two TSC stores there on each end of town so I check there first for things. The RK in Newark (actually in Heath) went into the former Hobby Lobby store near the mall. No big boxes empty in Lancaster, except for a space that was a Big Bear grocery super store, but TSC is in one end of that space now. Kroger on the west side of town is tearing down the old K-Mart location and moving to a new building there, but their former space at the other end of that strip center is probably too small for RK.
