OT Peach Trees Blooming

How's everyones' peach trees doing? I have a Redhaven that has a few open blossoms and it's supppose to get down to 22? tonight. That's not good. Apricot tree has finished blooming and the cots are getting bigger inside the blossom hulls. We'll see what tomorrow morning holds. Hate to loose them but they're 3 weeks early this year.

Use a misting sprinkler and keep them wet all night. It works (unless you have 5 trees!) even with ice on the branches the water makes a difference. Jim

Our peach tree has been in bloom for over a week, suppose to get just below freezing tonight and am hoping for the best.
NE Oklahoma.

SC, the largest peach producing state, has not had enough chilling hours for the blooms to set fruit. May be a bad year for the peach farmers.
A tree behind my shop has been blooming for 2 weeks.

I'm in SW Virginia. One of my peach trees is getting close to blooming. I have mine planted on a north facing hillside. I noticed some pink blooms on some of the neighbor's trees on a south facing hillside today. Anyone have Intrepid Peach trees? They are the toughest in cold weather that I have ever seen. I've had the blooms covered in ice and still had peaches.

I have 3 peach trees: June Gold, Elberta, and Red Haven, in North GA. It's been relatively warm for the last 1.5 months. Tuesday and Wednesday nights the lows are expected to be as low as 26. That being said, the June Gold blossomed 3-4 weeks ago and has fruit. The Elberta blossomed 2 weeks ago and it probably has fruit. The Red Haven is in full bloom now. I'm worried about the low temps coming soon.

I've got a lot of muscadine grapevines, too, but I'm not worried about them yet. Their buds haven't opened.

If you use sprinklers make sure you keep the water running until the ice falls off the trees. I've done that on corn and tomatoes and some vineyards do on grapes.

Not here in NY. The tree on the right is a peach.
