There was a sale today in South Jersey/Lehman sales,,I didnt go,,its about 1 hr 20 minutes from us in NJ.It was snowing hard ,so i decided not to go. They had many old tractors and such, and one thing I may have bid on was a 3 pt hiller /bed maker/i would like to find a simple three pt one used,it looks like something that would be handy for me.They dont seem to costly used.Has anyone here had experience using them? Thanks in advance...

i bought a middle buster for my lil fergie from rural king. looks like a double moldboard plow bottom. was about 150 dollars new. works good for pointing ditches, which i already did with it. supposed to be good for digging potatoes too. i swiched out to a ripper point i had in the shed and subsoiled the garden. worked good.

If you have a tool bar on the back you can use disc hillers to make your beds. Gthem from AGRI SUPPLY PRICES START AT 30 EA DIFFERENT SIZE DISCS AND LENGTH OF THE SHAFT.

Fabbed this one up out of 2" tube a few years ago. Works good to build a hill to plant on, and for hilling up the potatoes. The cultivator shank will scratch a shallow furrow to plant in. The furrow created by the discs, makes a great place to irrigate.

Here's what the hill looks like.

Using the furrow to irrigate.

Larry you can buy those 3 point hillers some also have various other items that go on them. There not much money. I have a set on my Deere LA, use them for making rows and hilling up rows.

Larry,
I have a two row deerborn cultivator. Never used it. Want to come all the way to Terre Haute? You could make two hills at the same time?
