I ask on Implement Alley and didnt get a good answer so i am going to ask here. Ok i have a Gill Pulverizer and i need to replace all the spikes on. I have found on Agri-Supply 2 different ones. One is 5/8 square 8 inches long for 2.29 a piece the other is 5/8 x 7/8 by 8 inches long called diamond tooth. Now i dont know exactly which one is the one i need for now. But either way i called my local used to be for many many years Massey Ferguson dealer he told me the 5/8 ones is the most popular ones to use but there little over 9.00 a piece and his were hardened. Um so i called Agri supply they lady told me the 5/8 x 5/8 ones was made with 10-45 steel with a hardened tip. the other spike had no info. Thats a big price jump from 2.29 bucks to 9 bucks. My question is which will be the best way to go. Im almost feeling that these are the same or are they.

your earlier post got me looking. Looks like there is 2 styles. Mine has the bars that are like a 1/2 in thick and 2 in wide, the other ones just have a spike like on a harrow.

I have seen the ones your talking about like you have that have the real thick spikes. Those are the newer model kinda pulverizers which i think are pretty nice. Im just tring to find out which way to go on my old one

You could get the cheaper ones, and then run some hard surfacing on the wear locations. Or just put a layer on before you install them.
