I have a 54 inch Kubota ztr with 32 hours. Bought last summer. I started mowing today and mower stopped moving. Engine was running and
blade was turning. Controls for the hydro have resistance when moving them with engine running or not. I suspected a belt was off and when I
looked below it was off the engine pulley. I plan to take it back to the dealer because of the warranty. The controls have always been easy to
move so I don't know what all may be wrong. Maybe not much. Any ideas? Thanks

Several things can cause belts to come off.

If you were in the rough, possibly a stick went through the pulley and threw it off.

Misaligned pulleys can cause it, make sure the engine pulley bolt is there and tight, that the pulley hasn't walked on the engine shaft.

How is the belt tensioned? A spring loaded idler? Is it in place?

I don't know how the warranty works on Kubota, or what your relation is with your dealer, but best ask some questions first. Sometimes belts are considered "maintenance" items and are not covered under warranty. Don't want any nasty surprises!

Anytime the hydrostat pump is not working the controls will have resistance.
After the belt as been reinstalled try moving the controls with the engine shut off, the controls will felt the same as when the belt came off.

Last fall I bought a new Kubota ZTR 54" mower---Loved it from Day One. Since we've had warmer weather recently, I thought I'd crank it up and pulverize some of these oak leaves that cover
the lawn. Couldn't get the mower started. Called the dealer---since the warranty on a new
mower is 400 hrs--or 4 yrs--whichever comes first. Guy came out and made an adjustment on the
choke mechanism. Mower runs fine now. He gave some hints on troubles that tend to occur. The drive belt from engine to pump tends to come off occasionally---possibly due to sticks or debris
"derailing" the belt. (Not necessarily a flaw of design of the mower.)
