Looking at a 1755 at auction tomorrow.. located in northern Virginia. In very nice original shape with a hair over 5100 hours on it. Everything works. Has the over/under hydropower on it. What would be a good price? Any ideas? Trying to get a ballpark. Thanks guys.

Value of a 40+ year old tractor is variable to say the least. One of the main
things I would look at on a tractor of this age is the tires . They may still
hold air , and have plenty of tread left, but can be as dry rotted that if you
start to pull some tillage equipment with them , they will split. Rear tires
can easy set you back $1,000.00 each for a new tire and remove and reinstall.
So if the tractor has the original tires , I would factor new rubber into the
price.

Condition will determine the price. As Bruce said tires are a big item, also is it gas or diesel, beat up or shedded, had a loader on it, cab no cab. I purchased a 1755 gas in good shape, no cab, wide front, decent tires for $5000 in Nov. 2016. Hope this helps.

If its the one at Cochran's then I'd say it may go around $7000 as its a pretty sharp diesel 1755.Last one I saw sell at a farm sale didn't look that good bought around
$7500 near Orange VA a couple years ago.

In the mid-atlantic area $7000 sounds about right. There is one for sale at a Cochran auction this morning near Frederick, MD a little north of N VA.

I would say the $5,000 to $7,000 range, depending on condition, sounds about right. I bought an 1850 with a loader and a dump trailer for $6,750 three years ago. Figured I got a pretty good buy. 1755 has much better brakes and hydraulics. A bit nicer steering, too. Jeff sealed a deal with a neighbor to buy a 1650 with a few minor things needed fixing for $4,500. So $5,000 to $7,000 would be a reasonable range for a 1755.

I'm sure its the one at Cochran's no other Oliver being sold in the area at auction today I know of.Usually equipment brings pretty good up there and depends on who brought it in there
might not sell.
