Apparently Red-Green rivalry doesn't mean much anymore

I was at my John Deere dealer this morning and they had posters touting the virtues of on-farm service... with a happy - - - - - Implement mechanic standing in front of his International service truck .

We have an early 80s 1,900 gal IH fuel truck that fills green equipment. I don't consider it a big deal because it's just a truck. It's not like JD made one to compete. My opinion, the rivalry more or less died when IH surrendered in 1985.

I was delivering to a fast food restaurant one day and a Coke service truck came thru the drive thru,I did not have a camera, but what a picture it would have been when the handed him a Pepsi!

I never saw a McDonalds that served Pepsi and it is against Coke policy to drink a Pepsi product or eat at Pizza Hut while on duty

A large Chevy dealership in the area uses a Ford MD dry van truck for parts deliveries and all "badges" have been removed and the appearance of the grille has been modified to make this all work.

well considering the international truck division has been separate from the ag division for many years i dont think it matters and international ag pretty much doesn't exist its now fiat industrial they've dropped the fiat industrial name from the parts boxes trying to save there so called heritage but they lost there heritage about 5 name changes ago

His service truck must not have a Maxforce engine in it, otherwise he wouldn't be smiling unless he sees the tow truck coming.

Last I checked, Deere didn't make trucks, and International trucks have had nothing to do with International tractors in 30 years. I think the statute of limitations has expired.

It started dying before the merger around here. A few very popular Deere dealers were cancelled during the early 1980's but the impact was minimal as nobody was buying anyways. Right around the same time the JD 50 series row crops came out and with the likely hood of IH failing in the wind the IH guys who could afford to buy were buying JD 50 series row crops decked out with 15 speed power shift and MFWD. Guys will still bicker over 4020's and 1066's and so forth but it just is not like it was before 1980-1981.

we grew up on a strictly red farm, my uncle morphed that by buying an allis chalmers, now out here i got 2 red tractors 1 ford, and 2 green ones, fortunately grandpa and my uncle never lived to see that
