Fuel Bowl Size

Hey all!! Ok, first post here:

Just bought a Farmall 460 that is a bit of a finicky fuel sediment bowl. Have looked at replacement units and see there are both large and small, and both say they fit the tractor. Which would be the more desirable in your opinion, and why?

Has a larger bowl now.

When the seller delivered it, there was a slight drip. He tightened the nut almost a full turn and the drip stopped. He kept talking and telling me how to shut off the gas buy turning this little valve here and....what's this? A nice, steady flow of gas starts running out and he can't stop it. And as we live like 14 million miles from nowhere, we had him top off the tank on the way out!

Fortunately the leak stopped for now. Have been sick this weekend so haven't even been outside, but don't even know if the valve is turned on or off at the moment.

Btw, planning on using this tractor to help build a new shop this year - not for farming. LOTS of projects once shop is done, but hoping some day to restore the old girl (the 460; not the wife!). :D

You will probasbly need to drain the tank to you can make repairs on the shut-off on the sediment bowl assy. Removing the nut asnd the l-shaped lever renew the packing so it can shut off the gas flow from the tank.Take the sediment assy and glass bowl to NAPA to gt a new rubber gasket that fits your assy and bowl. Check your assy and make sure it isnt warped from overtightened as thats why too many of them leak. Then with a little gas in the tank see if the shut-off works and the bowl doesent leak.
