Valentine's flowers

I deliver flowers for the local super market on valentine's day. In the first hour I made over $200. Haven't got the final tally for the day yet, but it includes a free dozen red roses that were left over. Gas cost me under $20. Got a little beer money today.

I do my Valentines Day business with a local greenhouse. A single red rose for both of my daughters, A single red rose with greenery and BabysBreath for my wife, and a single rose to put on my Mothers grave. Total cost was $13.90. Everyone happy.

I used to get the wife flowers in our younger years. In our middle years she had her own flower shop and got them wholesale. In later years she worked for a florist. About ten years ago I was in Costco and they had sweetest day roses for $12.50 a doz. so I got one and put them in a vase. She got home from work and what do you think she said? Thank you, I love them, they're beautiful? Naw, "How much did you pay for those?" So much for romance.

The first and only time I got my late wife flowers for valentines [with the prodding of my daughter] all but cost me a divorce, she accused me of all kinds of hanky panky. daughter saved me by telling her mother that it was her idea.
