Post back surgery

Five weeks after having my L5 disc replaced. I am happy to report all is good all my leg pain is gone. The incision is still a little sore but is healing nicely. Go back to the doctor in one week for six week follow up and hope to get the go ahead to get back to barn chores.

Yes I can David G. I herniated my L5 disc in August and was in excruciating pain. Left leg was very numb and the pain in my lower back was unbearable. Doctors put me through therapy and injections but they offered little relief. When I talked over surgery plans with the doc he gave me three options. 1 live with the pain 2. Surgery to trim off the herniation but he felt I would re-herniate it 3. Total disc replacement which consisted of a 6 to 7 inch incision just below my belly and the doc took out the whole disc and repaced it with an artificial spacer. Doc claims I will have full mobility when I am done recovering. I will try to find a picture of the artificial disc he used he showed it toe before the surgery but didn't have my phone to take a picture.

That looks a lot less intrusive than the old ones.

I have a lot of thoracic and cervical damage/arthritis, waiting as long as I can.

LDR the same company that made the 2 that was put in my neck between C5-C7. Looks close to the same, put the disk in with the tool tighten it up and pull the tool back out.
Oh and had L4 L5 disk trimmed close to 20 years ago been good since.

Surgery went well. Turns out that was not my problem after having 3 neurosurgeons check me out. Had MRI's and all.

I have neurosarcoidoses. Quite rare. A autoimune disiese. My imune system attacked my spinal cord. Am physicaly much better and am grateful for the University of Mi. neuroligy department. But am in much pain.

That sounds like what my former manager's wife got. She was to of had her spinal cord attacked from having the flu ? but this was also very soon after she had laser eye surgery too. She ended up in a wheel chair her lower half paralyzed.
