length of delco generator.

Where do you want to mount the regulator, on the generator or on a flat plate that is bolted some other place? Is this for a diesel or gas application? In other words are we talking 20 amp capacity or more than that?

Are around 20 different sizes, e.g. 6.1" long by 6" diameter, 7.1" X 7", 9" X 7.8", 7.25" X 7.5", 6.1" X 8" etc.

I have cockshutt 20 deluxe that I want to put it on. It was a 6 volt system that the past owner put a 12volt battery in. I was told it was converted to 12 volt, but it had a 6 volt generator that was junk. They put 12 volt pertronics and a 12 volt coil in it. So I would like to put a 12 volt generator in to keep it looking stock. I need a short delco to fit in next to the air cleaner. Thank you for any help. Al

FYI, the Delco 12v on my 1962 Chevy PU is right at 8 inches not including bearing cup on rear and pulley.

The short ones are more ag application generators while the long ones were more for automotive applications. So where do you want to put the regulator/ Since you want to keep a generator and I would as well have you looked for a 12 volt Auto-Lite? Have you talked to a shop that can keep your Auto-Lite case and convert the insides to 12 Volt? You have e-mail?

62 Chevy came with a 30-35 amp generator or a 37-42 amp Delcotron 10DN alternator. Here are measurements from Delco for the family of four units that are close
in size.
