Giving my 1963Case 831C a face lift.

Bought this tractor back in April.
My dad ordered it into our Case dealership for one of my uncles in 63. It has been traded around the area several times. The final owner was Amish who bought it with the farm he purchased.
It was pretty ugly when I brought it home, (first pic). A lot of stripping of the uglies, (cab, front weights, warn out wide front, Oliver fenders, etc.) It shaped up pretty nice, (second pic).
After painting it I ran it quit a bit and it ran and operated very well without any costly repairs.
After getting my firewood supply in for the winter, I decided to build a bigger wood trailer for it. I completed the new wood hauler except for wheels and tires, waiting for something to come along cheep, HeHe, and started fabing up the accessories that I wanted on the tractor. (1) a 2 post canopy, (2), a front bumper/grill guard, (3) front fender, and (4) a easy access set of front RH and LH steps for it, as the 2 post restricted entry from rear.
Friday the roof will be delivered from my steel supplier. I drew up plans for it to be formed from 16G steel. I don't have the means in my shop to make the detailed radius bends on a piece of steel that big. once the roof panel is here, I will add the support struts to the 2 post frame to house front and rear amber lights, and mtgs. to secure it.
No big rush now. It will all have to be disassembled in the spring for paint. I have a CBS paint booth.

As usual you have done an awesome job Loren! I always enjoy seeing what you have fabricated with metal. I may borrow some of your ideas on the steps. They are similar to what I had in mind but better. The skills you are using contain so many elements that our schools are missing today. I have been spending some time lately volunteering to teach some high school students welding and fabrication skills. This way I can slip in some fractions and geometry without them realizing it lol. I wish I had half of your knowledge and skill.

I have lots of time. My funds are limited though. Much of the steel that I use is salvaged Kubota shipping crates, and what ever else that I can scrounge. I do on occasion have to buy some new steel also.

Is CBS "Clear, Bright, and Sunny"?

As usual, really nice.

But I have to ask, the vertical hand rails, what do they attach to? It cannot be the sheet metal. Is there a support under the sheet metal?

Oh, and where does the rear camera and monitor attach? :)

Boy Loren,
I thought you were building a "pulling" tractor there for a minute! LOL
Always like to see what you are up to.

Taking a guess...CBS paint booth meaning Contained Breathing
System. Call it supplied air system here. A good idea for
basic painting and essential for some paint types. Another great
looking project from ACG,really like those steps and rails.

EFV, Big Tee coined the phrase. CBS stands for clear blue sky. Other words known as painting outside with no fancy painting equipment.

I went to an auction probably a dozen years ago where there was an 830 with Oliver fenders and a Ford loader on it. This was down by the NY/PA border in western Steuben County. Probably 20 miles east of Wellsville, NY.

The hand rails just rise up and are not attached at the top. Just slid plastic caps over the pipe to keep water and wasps out. They are made from black iron pipe so they are pretty stout. I might add a brace to the fuel tank support.

looks good.

did some similar things to my 800. front bumper/grill guard is from an english built mid size IH utility tractor that was a highway dept tractor. just drilled a couple new holes to mount to the front bolster. My homemade "ROPS" was too tall so i'm making it a folding style but still in the works. no canopy. too many trees here and it would get destroyed pretty fast.

used a couple old floor boards from another 800 parts tractor for front side steps. mounted backwards they work pretty good.

It is a Case930 Row Crop with a cab. Looks descent driving by. I'm not in the market so I haven't stopped.
