I recently rebuilt my 2020 desiel balance shafts were shot so i replaced with new aftermarket shafts the engine runs fine only it has prominent gear noise has anyone done this before .

Replacing one gear in a set of two is a probable cause. Matched gear shape with one from??, and one worn gear from thousands of hours of use, is actual cause. Jim

I think that eventually, those gears should wear into each other and hopefully the noise will go away.

The noise will probably go away with time.

I have the same situation on an H Farmall. I replaced all of the bearings in the transmission last summer, and at the same time I replaced a couple of gears with used ones that looked better. Now the bearing noise is gone but I have gear noise that seems to be quieting down with use.

[Thanks i was thinking the same just wanted some different ideasquote="Dshel"](reply to post at 07:15:06 01/29/17) [/quote]

of course i know that I should have used the old gears from worn shafts but i dont like the idea of tearing front cover off since i have no leaks
