This is how it is done

Thanks for posting this, following the restoration there's a 13 minute video of them in action, all excellent photography!

I lived 1 mile north from the Factory. Several people I worked with at MSU Northern were employees making them. I got a chance to be around them, including the famous 747. E-normous. Nice to see the rebuild. Still cheaper than a new one, and a whole lot of satisfaction. Jim

The Williams family came from Bellflower, IL and up the road is Coile's Diesel, a Detroit diesel specialist started by Merle Coile. When the Big Bud came to Penfield and Merle found out the Williams had it. It got the wheels rolling that his grandfather was a Williams. I think that was the connection. But they are cousins and met in Penfield. I have a picture of my 435 backed up to the pin of the 747. Later when the 747 was in Des Moines, IA, Merle went out and put in larger injectors to up it to 1000 hp+.

Small world out there some times. I have known the Coiles since the 60s. They are good people and still fixing trucks with Detroits and Cummins.
