Tire question

Rear tires on my backhoe need up graded. Size is 21L-24 R4, the LR is an Alliance 12 ply and the RR is a Firestone 16 ply heavily dry rotted. New tires are not in the budget so I bought two fairly decent used Firestones. But what I didn't realize is they are only 10 ply. The manual says to use 12 ply. I would like to find another Alliance to mach the one I have but for now I was planing to use the two Firestones.
My Dynahoe 1900 weighs 24,000 LBS, so I'm kinda wondering, could this be a bad combination? Will it be bouncy and unstable?
Thanks!

Unless the tubes are sticking out of what it has on it right now run it like it is. My A/C W Speed patrol I was told over 15 years ago I needed to replace the tires on it and well it still has the same ones on it and holding up just fine. I have an almost new set for it sitting in the shed and they have been sitting there for years now waiting for the day they go in service. That way you can take your time and keep looking for a good deal which is how I came up with the set I have that are waiting

Cush and bouncy is bad only if you do road travel a lot. In the field, they would work at modest speeds. They would promote the
galloping gurty situation with the fronts coming off the ground. Remember the tires are off the ground when working, so not a
problem there. I would also probably use the existing tires unless failure on the road would be a major liability. Then I would go
for the heavier tire than the 10 ply. Jim

go for it... use them. the only place it will be bouncing is traveling. these tires might have better traction for filling when using the bucket. i would not worry about 2 ply difference. keep the air pressure up to spec , or close.

Ya that old dry rotted Alliance is really bad, the tread is starting to peal off. Failure on the road would be a bad thing.

With the 10 ply traveling down the road is one thing, mostly I’m concerned about driving it around the job site and maneuvering in tight spots, a lot of uneven ground around here. The hoe on this machine is really heave, it will lean over a lot when swinging the boom left or right and thats with the dipper and bucket up close.
I’ll use the 10 ply tires (eventually) and keep an eye out for another used Alliance 12 ply.

Appreciate the advice guys!
God bles!!
