D John Deere 158 loader

Does anyone know if John Deere made a hood guard for a 158 loader? Or have one for sale?

I was thinking JD offered a hood guard for a 158 but didn't locate one listed in parts catalog. Have you considered building a hood guard?

They made one but we need to know what tractor your putting the loader on.

This interests me as well. Figured I'd just build one, but if ones ready to go at a decent price I'd buy one. Mine would be for a 4320.

This one came off a 2510 with 520 loader.

What difference would tractor model make as JD only offered 1 set of mounting brackets for a 158 and IIRC grill guard bolted to frt of mounting brackets?

TxJim there where three different Hood guards made for the JD 158 loaders. 20 series tractors was one. Then one for the narrow hood/sheet metal of the 4430/4440 and smaller waterloo tractors. Then one for the JD 4630/4640/4840 with the wider setting sheet metal. The 20 series one had a different angle and spacing due to how the fuel tank set compared to the newer JD tractors.

Jim I have never found them in the parts books. They where in a supplemental loader mounting guide that I kept a copy at my sales desk. I got the original copy at a service training class at Moline. It was just a mimeographed copy not a bound book. The guards where all Whole goods numbers. You got the guard, braces, and all the hardware. Our store kept the 20 series and the narrow sheet metal ones on hand.

Thanks for the explanation. I remembered that the number for the complete hood guard with mounting hardware was a whole goods number.
