had the farmhand loader off my jd tractor while i repaired the tractor and used it for some other things, went to put it back on, now ive had the thing off sever times and never had a problem re attaching it, until this time, first it wouldnt raise the front pipe up high enough so it and the rear loader frame would clear the pins on the side of the tractor, nothing has changed, it came off the same tractor, then after picking the rear up with another loader i got it sitting where it is supposed to, the long bolts wouldn't go up in the holes where they thread in on the rear, finally i removed the lower latches so i had a straight shot, threaded a 1 inch tap up there thinking maybe a mouse had crawled in there with a file and worked the thread over, they were fine, the bolt threaded in too, put it back together it wont fit, so i shoved the loader backwards with another tractor until the jd was sliding,to get more clearance, it still wont fit, keep in mind all this stuff came out of the exact same holes, finally i got it by driving the pins out of the lower latches and threading the bolts in, then using a steel bar used for setting the holes for beams on steel buildings i lined up the pins again and drove them in, have no idea what happened ,but before i remove it again, i think i'll scrap the tractor if i cant get to what i need to fix on it with that loader on

Sometimes they can be a b!+ch to put on. I have a Great Bend loader on my IH and I seldom take it off because of the same reason you said. Most of the time it's not a problem but every once in a while it just don't click. I've got a Westendorf loader on my little 4630 Ford and it can be off and back on in less than 3 minutes.

Got a Farmhand on a Ford 5000, like the size of the loader and it works well...

BUT

Putting the loader back on is like you said, pretty much takes another loader to do it, nothing goes back together just right.

Good thing it only comes off when it's in the way of something needing worked on on the tractor...which is pretty rare.

man I know your pain ,,. btdt and burned the t shirt I got for doing it solely by myself ,..LoL v///loaders and mounted corn pikers , and lets not forget the throated heads that mounted rite in front of the cylinder on before quik attach combines ,.none of thee are meant for a 70 yr old man to tackle by himself ,. no wonder we dedicate amachine 2 a job and simply find another tractor

I had an old loader that I only took off once. It nearly took the religion right out of me. Holy crud on a cracker.

The best thing I ever got was my quick attach loader. I take it off with in the machine shed with the cement floor. It literally takes me longer to climb in and out of the tractor than attach it. The neighbor keeps thinking I switch tractors when they see me run home and take it off and then come back to fertilize without it.
