Don't want to hog the site but I was listening to my oldies station out in the shop and they were talking about Elvis, as a lot of you know yesterday was his birthday, would have been 82. They said when he died there were 177 Elvis impersonators, by the year 2000 there were 126754 Elvis impersonators. So they have it figured out at the current rate of growth that by the year 2050 1/3 of the worlds population will be Elvis impersonators! We went to a concert in Cleveland last night celebrating his birthday. Three great impersonators, the Blackwood quartet, and the Sweet Insperations. It was a great show, about three hours long. My son is a Elvis nut.

I saw the Graceland exit sign when I was going through Memphis a little over a week ago. Went there a few years ago and would like to see it again sometime.

Wasn't it Johnnie Carson who said it would be nice if Elvis were alive and all the impersonators were dead?

BTW, when I was in school at NAS Memphis, I had a girl friend in south Memphis. I used to drive past Graceland just to get to her house. We used to get carry out pizza from a place across the street from Graceland. I'm sure the place is not there anymore.

I went to school at NAS Memphis, also! If I recall correctly - I was a few years after you - I was there the end of 1980.....

I guess I'm a little older , I went to Avionics school there in Spring of '68...Old gray wooden barracks, Got the "frog watch" a couple times ....

I went to AMS/AMH school there. Don't think the barracks were grey (maybe TAN....?), but they were OLD! Barracks on the south side of the highway, school on the north side. We were 7 Marines in a class with 20+ sailors....
