71 John Deere 4620 injectors

Does anyone know how to remove the injectors on a 4620? I used a blunt chisel to loosen the retaining nuts that screw into the head, but I can't get the injectors to budge up, it seems that I'm separating the injector Y housing from the injector itself if anything. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have an adaptor that screws on to the top of the injector where the fuel line goes. Then a slide hammer hooks to that. Even then I have broken them off. I have had to remove the cylinder head and drive them out of the head from the bottom.

Clean everything up good and use plenty of anti-seize when installing the new/rebuilt injectors.

With an injector removal socket or wrench and a slide-hammer puller with the appropriate adapter.

You are KIDDING, right?

(We just had Jan 1, NOT April 1!

Hell no thats the only way to do it without taking the head off, and I'm not getting in that far to it. It needs to be back in operation in a few weeks. I'm putting new injectors in it by the way.

Well Mr. Bacher it appears that you became an expert on those injectors in just 50 minutes.

Obviously not. That's why I'm asking
questions. Maybe if ya give me some info
instead of wasting my time wed both be
better off.

Thank you for the info. I was able to use a 13/16 open-ended wrench to wiggle them free. They actually came out fairly easily.
