Value of a Farmall H

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of current value for a decent Farmall H. Not a show piece, just a decent/complete running "UNcobbled" H.

I checked the tractor values here - but looks like the prices are from several years ago.

They had one at the Mecum auction in Davenport Ia. awhile back that brought $30000---Tee

Having two H's and looking for a third, I'd say between $1,000 and $2,000 for an average, serviceable one.

Earlier this fall, there was one on an auction locally. I checked it out ahead of time and it was straight and original, quiet gears, no smoke from the exhaust, original paint so-so. I couldn't attend the auction, so I left a max bid of $2,000 with the auctioneer thinking I might buy it for $1,200 to $1,800. It sold for $2,500, but even the auctioneer thought that was high.

I bought one of mine on a consignment auction a couple of years ago for $400, but that was a fluke. Temp around zero, north wind with no shelter, and it was the next to the last item that sold. Most other bidders had bailed out by then.

$600 to $1200 in my area...I have seen running H's sell as cheap as $400...
Theres tons of H's in my area...In late 2015 the two H's pictured sold for $900 each
just 5 miles from my house..I think that the one with the loader had been in the
family since it was new....A nice M sold for $1400..

I have one in mid Mn. with new rears, narrow front, good paint. 12 volt. starts & runs good with no smoke. Been asking 1600 but still have it.

Bought a very nice running, 100% original 1951 H on an auction this fall in MN. It has brand new tires, perfect sheetmetal, all lights work, original 6 volt generator works as it should, even has the paper pulley and radiator shutters that are in excellent condition. Paid more than I wanted to, but am still glad I bought it. I paid $1650. Personally, I don't believe this was an "average" H Farmall. It had never been off the farm it was delivered to in 1951, still has the original brass tools for setting point and spark plug gaps in the tool box.
An average H, yes $1,000 give or take is very accurate pricing. But, some are certainly worth more, others are worth less.

From the post below one can pretty well figure it all depends on where it is located. This part of the country I can find you all you want of running ones for $ 600. to a thousand. It is really not what they are worth it boils down to the question of WHO is buying farmall Hs . Just no one buying the things.

Wide front or narrow front? I think a wide front might bring more, and what about a Super H?

I have a running, driving, all in all pretty decent tractor. Metal is decent. Has AWESOME rear 11.2 tires, IH short wheel base wide front, and a few other little things that go with it. I have been thinking of asking $1800 for it. Not moving much on the price. The tires and the wide front are what drive the price up for me.

Jay,

Just a regular H. Thinking wide front would be preferred... narrows get wadded up with snow.

Husband will likely wait for then auction season to roll around, before doing anything. He welded the clutch part on the old DC3 Case and got it working well - but figure it's only a matter of time until the old girl goes down (tough to find parts for the foot clutch). So he's been thinking "H".

A good running H in my area usually have asking prices round $1000.00.

Since I'm not in the market for an H there are lots of them for sale.

I have been in the market for a good Super M like Dad owned but they are scarce in good shape and decently priced.

Just my luck I suppose, If I was looking for an H instead there would be a Super M on every corner.

I forgot to add that mine is the X1 Gas engine, and also the X6 slow speed 1st / reverse rear end. And it has a BRAND new clutch in it.

The guy I bought my 4200 from was looking to trade it in on a newer model. It has poor tires, smoke damage from a barn fire and wasn't running at the time.
When he asked the dealer what he thought it was worth the dealer deadpanned;
"How much does it weigh?"
:)

In my area on MN, west central, about what others are saying. Fella here had one, WFE, near new tires around. Chains, aftermarket 3 point and an all hydraulic loader with a PTO pump. All in all a decent tractor. It took him 6 months to sell it even with his sob story about his college aged daughter needing the money. I know he was asking 1500 for it. I don't know what he finally took. I went and looked at it more as a curtesy, he's friend when he offered me first chance. I just wasn't interested. My SIL just bought a Farmall 706 gasser. Could use some paint but that's about all it needs. We put a Year Around cab that I had on it and the snow blower. He paid right at 3K for it. I get to use it! Starts great in the cold and it has HEAT! Even the block heater works as it should! Rear tires are a little weather checked.

I would like to have the 41 H back that we traded off in 84 that Grandpa bought in 49. Would also like to have back all the others I used to have.
