The picture may not show it,but if you look at the rocks you can see the water line near the top of the rocks

I know its not tractor related,,but thought some may like to visit a spot in central NJ.

Looks like you can still launch a boat, but barely- last pic looks like the level is right at the bottom of the boat launch, where the drop-off starts.

One lake trout over 24"- that sounds kind of fun.

nice tour ,..here in southern ind ,,. the reservoirs drain down for the crazy rains of winterand spring ,,. I would bet rough river ky is way down,. my 1st wifes folx had a summer waterfront camp there that was terrific ,.. but this time of year the water was a quarter mile away ,. we used to go scavenging,.

Don't know if the season's open but with less water for the fish to swim in it might be worth it to go and throw a line out even though I know that lake is pretty deep.

Hi , from the photos I would guess the water is
down about 10 ft or 3meters. On the controlled
reservoirs around here, they always lower them in
anticipation of the coming snow melt. Our valley is
narrow so we get quite a large melt fast. Thanks for
the posts. I quite relate on a lot of topics. Ed Will

Hey Larry I dont mean to step on your story a bit. Just to add to your
story though. The guys on here don't know that there are two
resevoirs. If you look on one of the maps apps. First is Spruce Run
and the other is Round Valley. Water supply for north east new jersey.
That means Newark, Jersey City, etc. Like 55 billion gallons in size.
Round vally Was a Round valley at one time. One road into it if I
remember correctly, and I am trying to remember if there were four or
six farms all nessiled in there. Think it was six. This is going back
close to 50 years ago but the huge pipe line they dug from Spruce to
Round they used one of the very first of it's size hyraulic excavators
on the east coast at the time. Twenty foot pipe. This is around 1956 -
1959. Now here is how you get water, and you think California's water
system is crazy. The pump station is on the Delaware river. That goes
to Spruce Run. Then it goes to Round Valley. Then it is pumped to NE
Jersey. From one side of the state to the other. The dam they are
working on is a huge pile of bolders that were so big a tractor
trailer load was one or two bolders. There is another smaller dam
also. The Valley is 150 feet deep and a bunch of people have drown
with six or so still not found. I can remember them being built cause
I was, around 8 or nine when my dad and I would drive up and take a
look. When I was in Boy Scouts we camped several times up in the back
woods north of Spruce Run. I have an original WW II war survey map of
the area somewhere around. Larry I had no idea they had the water so
low. I need to drive up there some time for a look see. Thanks for the
info!
