Stud 1850 picture

I found this in my pictures today. Dad never ran this tractor, but I guess he helped me load it this day. Forgot about that. I hauled this around a few times for various purposes. Obviously down the backroads, just a touch wide!! This was my first farm tractor, 1850 gasser. I still have it, boy does it like fuel. But I think someone tinkered with it, it dyno's over 110hp. This is "my kind" of green tractor. It's made a few boys with their 4020's frown before. They said, you'll never pull that 5 bottom. It did, but sure was better when I added some weight on the front sometime after this picture.

I should have bought the duals with mine when I bought it,but I let them go.

I remember being at an auction of two old brother one time, who grew potatoes. They had an 1850 and a 4020. Come time to sell the tractors the one old guy said he had to admit, the Oliver handled the plow better than the Deere did.

Cool!

An 1850 gasser was our "big" tractor back in the day. It too dynoed at 110 HP. With a 6x16 plow (and 600 lb of ballast on the front) I plowed literally thousands of acres with it. The only downside was it's thirst for fuel - it could empty the 35 gallon tank in about 5 hours of hard work.

My son uses it now to run a snowblower. He likes it because it starts easily even in sub-zero temps.

Good thing it had fender tanks! Nice tractor, wouldn't mind having a big gasser like that around for moving snow.

Sweet lookin tractor! One to be proud of. My dad bought a 1750 that dynoed 100 hp when they delivered it. I think that was able to keep up to a lot of 4020s.

Yeah when I was younger and bought it I thought the fender tanks were silly. First day in the field I figured out they were very necessary when far away from the shop!

I worked for an Oliver Dealer back in the day an 1850 on gas would run about 3.25 hrs on 35gals of gas. we had 1800 gas out to demo pulling 2row cutter 14gal per hour the guy did not by it
