We Went Shopping today!

The wife and I went shopping for a pickup truck today. Our second stop was a dealership named "Laura Buick" in Collinsville IL. We ended up purchasing a 2007 Chevy 1500 extended cap with 4 doors.
We found out that this dealership is the second largest GM dealer in the US. They have 27 salesman and 7 loan officers. They just received 4 golf carts for the salesman to roam the lots. They sell over 800 vehicles a month. The place was really busy today that's for sure. I would recommend them for anyone looking to buy a nice or new vehicle.

Someone posted about them a couple months ago when I bought my Chevy duallie...prices comparable to Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, ID where I bought mine. The are the largest GM dealer in the NW and largest Dodge dealer in the world. They sell over 1300 vehicles a month. The town is small, in a valley along I-90 so everywhere you look there are new cars and trucks. I also got a $700 credit card from Costco by going thru them even tho the DS price was lower than theirs.

Assuming they are closed Sundays, that's over 30 vehicles /day. Hard for me to fathom that. Evidently they are going the way of every other industry. Get big or get out.

Yes it's hard to imagine. When you walk into their building there are 3 ladies at the front desk answering phones greeting customers. All you see are salesman booths with walls about 4ft tall. It's incredible. Their dealership is also located in a valley or old river bottom along the bluffs.

This reminds me of the gas station in Tigerton who was pretty much the largest seller of fuel in the Midwest. When you consider Tigerton has a population of about 500 and the gas station only had a cafe to draw in the crowd.

But yes, Tiny Schoeder was pretty much the biggest Dealer in the Midwest. Weighing in at over 400 lbs, he was truly a big dealer.

I wonder how Woodhouse Ford, Dodge, and just about everything else, in the Omaha/Blair, NE area stands. They advertise 6,000 vehicles in inventory. When you drive through Blair, you notice all of the hills surrounding the town are covered with vehicles.
