What a great tribute. Mine has been gone for 15, and think about him every day.

Thank you, that was at a local parade the year before he past, who only knows who he was saying hi to lol He loved life family and farming,my oldest son and I are on the Massey behind him.

GREAT picture!

I think many/most men would admit that tooling around on a tractor is the nearest thing to being a boy again.

Hi, my dad passed on to greener pastures July 5/79
He was born 1886. He would be 130 now. Miss him too. Ed Will Oliver BC wine capital

Saw this post and just realized my dad was killed by a VA hospital 30 years ago this year. I was 10 and still remember our local doctor begging my dad to go somewhere else. He didn't listen, I sure wish he had.

My dad has been gone 5 years this past July he was 86 and lost my oldest brother this past September he would have been 67 yesterday it was like loosing another dad he was the first son and I was the last number 8 and one sister after me.

Wish I had the picture of Daddy on our 9N in Jan.of 1940, a month after Grandaddy bought it. I think Daddy quit college to come home and farm! He left us in July of '91, had lung cancer, was 69. He retired at 55 from debilitating arhtritis. Sure wish I had his unflagging patience!

know what you mean I miss mine like it was just yesterday . he passed in Jan 1979 at 78 years old . hardly seems that long ago .

I feel sorry for those fellas who didnt get along well with their Dad. Wish I could be half the man my Dad was. Mine was very big, strong as an ox and always willing to help anyone he could. I too miss mine every day. Three years, and some days are still hard on me. Al

Sorry for your loss too,he never babied me or sugar coated the truth but you always knew he genuinely cared

Four years ago for me. Amazing work ethic. Don't know of any thing he couldn't do cept maybe work on transmission innards. Maybe could if we had tried. We started twisting wrenches together with a half inch S&K socket set that I wound up with when his tools were divided amongst us boys, I still give the ratchet a kiss after wiping it off before it goes back in the tray. Good memories.

Glad there is another one out there, I always thank my dad after I have cleaned up and put his tools away.

Lost my dad a year ago in July. He was going out to rake a field for me and had a stroke setting the rake down. I called him 10 minutes before that to let him know not to rake down by the waterway. Most important call I ever made. Told each other love yah one last time.

Dad has been gone 25 years this past November. A few years go my brother found dads steel post driver out in the pasture leaning up against a hedge post. I wonder how much time dad had spent looking for it.

As my dad used to joke some times, "The kids must have lost it"....lol. Hes been gone over 17 years.

Lost Dad October 29th, 1951. I don't think that their has been a day in those sixty five years that I have not thought of him.

Miss my Dad also. He has been gone almost 25 years, There is so much I wish I would have talked with him about. Some of his tractors are still parked in the same place when stopped using them. Time goes on. Stan

My Dad passed in 2002 just shy of 91. He had put out a garden that year. Died with lung cancer. Unfiltered Camels most of his life. Just sold his farm today.

That's a great picture too, nothing like a nice picture of them in their everyday cloths doing something they love

Ed, that is your 800th post! Lost my dad unexpectedly in Dec. of 2010. I felt kind of guilty reading some of these post where folks said that they think of their deceased Dad everyday, which I can't say that. I hope to think that it is because I'm at ease with the fact that I know he is in a better place. Still have fond memories of him, in particular his strong faith and selfless attitude toward helping others.
