A top dry systm like that would be a good way for him to dry corn, too. Easy on gas, and not many moving parts.

He has said where he needs to set them he cannot use any bin bigger than 18' diameter.

For that money and that price I think I would try and make it work. I think his reason was he didn't want to give up the farmland. But it's only about 1/thousands of an acre.

Remember the movie "Field of Dreams"? Kevin Costner's brother was saying that he'd go broke if he built the baseball field and took that land out of production. A baseball field is about 2 acres.

A top dry? Wow, I'd make that fit if it worked. That is a pretty good setup (without knowing anything about that one....) for one man operation, to
dry stuff.

Load in top and it is dried there. Falls into bottom and fans cool it. Escaping heat warms next batch in too, helps drying. Augered into another bin when cooled. At least that is how the one I have looked at worked, not an expert.

Former neighbor had one of these. Once dry it was augered into a large pole building for storage.
