Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday

We will be at our daughters for Christmas, so I won't be here tomorrow to do this. I know that there are a few besides me that were born on Christmas day, so Happy Birthday to all!! I'll be 65 tomorrow, if I had known I would live this long, I would have taken better care of myself when I was younger!!!LOL When I was young Thanksgiving and Christmas was always celebrated at Mom's side of the family. I only remember 1 Christmas at Dad's side. Thanksgiving was always at Aunt Marcy and Uncle Keck's in Carlinville. Christmas was at Granddad and Grandma Rectors. Uncle Keck worked on a mail train, I think from St. Louis to Chicago. Several times he had to work Christmas Eve, so they would drive up Christmas day(4 1/2 to 5 hour drive). It killed my brother and I to have to wait for them to arrive so we could open presents. When Grandad and Grandma ended up in a nursing home and eventually passed away, there were no more family Christmas get togethers, it just wasn't Christmas if we weren't and Granddad and Grandmas. Alta and I have 2 daughters and 1 son, 4 grandsons and 2 grand daughters. We used to have Christmas here, but as the kids get a little older, I told them to start taking turns having Christmas and Thanksgiving instead of coming here all the time. We won't be here forever and I want them to all get together for the Holidays after we are gone. SO, we are all going to Aurora, Ill tomorrow for family Christmas at Christa's house and then they will probably argue over whose turn it is next year.
I will probably wake up at 4:30 as usual and have to set still and be quiet until everyone wakes up, but Alta and I will get to be there when Lincoln wakes up and SANTA CAME LAST NIGHT!!!! That should make it all worth while.
So Merry Christmas to all!!You all seem like family to me and it's tough when the internet is down and I can't keep up with you all. Happy Birthday to all you Christmas babies out there!! Chris

So Bruce's is today, yours is tomorrow and my granddaughter's is the 26'th. Happy birthday and merry Christmas to everyone.

Chris may you and your family have a Merry Christmas!!! Family getting together is the best part of this season to me anymore. The gifts are a young person's joy.

Super99,

I'll tell you what I told Bruce from Can., "Merry Birthday".

Go on youtube and look up:
I Never Expected - Mel Tillis and the Old Dogs
(great song - you'll like it).

There's a phrase in it (maybe the chorus):
"I never expected to live this long...took me completely by surprise..." LOL

Hi guys, I do not post much , but look at all of these sites every day. After reading super 99 s story , I thought I mite mention that my 79 th birthday will be tomorrow. One of my grand parents b day was on Christmas day .We celebrated together for several years also. There were some " not so great " Christmas s due to family problems , but all in all it has been good.
As someone else stated, If I knew that I was going to live this long, I would of taken better care of my self! Farming can be hard on a persons health and well being.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to every one . clint, formally from Ill.
