Water Frame is a water wheel powered machine used for spinning cotton into thread, it could spin up to 128 spools at a time and was far faster than hand methods.

Opened up Industrial production of thread for weaving here in England in the middle to late 1700's. Arkwright went on to own many factories producing thread.
 
In a cheerful thought, I noticed that over the years you blokes have come up with some really good ideas about lots of things. To what would you attest the source? Oxford U? As history teaches, we basically got started after 1492. When did you guys get going? How much of the Roman presence affected present day culture?
