I have a international 574 diesel it ran out of fuel . I have bled the fule lines, now it will start and run for about 3 seconds then shut off any ideas on how to fix this?

Lots of times crud gets sucked into the pipe on those ih u
shape tanks when they are run low. Plugs stuff up or plugs
the first filter. If diesel doesn't spray pretty strong out of the
filter air bleeds when opened, clean out inlet fitting by the filter
housing and blow air back into the tank.

Dribbling out doesn't cut it, clean lines will flow enough for a
little arching stream with the notch in the right spot. Check it
has good flow up to the pump too, I have found hay/straw past
the filters for some reason on a 584 we had that would lose
prime all the time.

Loosen the bleeder on the pump. It should start and run fine then. If not probably need change the filters. I would change them anyway.
