Gradually learning to work a new camera and its quite a learning process. Got this shot of the yard about 10:30 this morning. That is the 15-30 McCormick Deering at the bottom of the photo.
Its been a steep learning curve and I've still got lots to learn about it. But I do have the basic skills now needed to fly , and most importantly, land. I had to call in some help (my nephew) to get the compass calibration done before the first flight yesterday.(quoted from post at 18:37:24 12/20/16) Looks like your a quick learner.
Thanks Larry. I never did post the "real cat video" that I shot one winter a few years ago showing about 8 cats coming to meet me through the snow at feeding time.(quoted from post at 18:57:44 12/20/16) that is fantastic!!! My wife really liked your video,,when you fed your cats she watched it and told me to tell you she liked it.
(quoted from post at 19:47:09 12/20/16) I had a drone for about 30 mins 3 months ago. It took off and went to the other side of the house . Was way up there i tried to get it to come back .So i ran around the house with the controller in my hand and never saw it again . Ive looked in trees fields everywhere that dam thing just took off and left.
Yes, the "return to home" feature gives a better landing than I have been able to do manually.(quoted from post at 21:18:04 12/20/16) Does your drone have that Auto pilot function? Helps you out so you don't look like a total klutz. Some drones have an automatic fly home function. If your's has it turn it on. Still will say, please give your kittys some of that Alpo lamb and rice. It is not that expensive. They will love you. I would even send you a couple of cans.
That one I posted was a cropped image as the full size was huge. I'd like to get an early morning sunrise shot but its the coldest time of the day and I'm not a morning person anyway. About +8F here at sunrise.(quoted from post at 04:47:41 12/21/16) Try again some sunny morning and try for a shot where the barn and old tractor fill the frame more and you've got yourself a calendar shot.
Thanks, I am hoping to do better as I get more familiar with operating the controls. Warmer weather would help too.(quoted from post at 08:07:51 12/21/16) rusty6,
These are really cool photos!
You're making me want to buy a drone. Probably won't... but you're making me want to.
(quoted from post at 12:48:52 12/21/16) Rusty6, I got a drone last year for christmas they are a lot of fun. The first thing you will want to do is buy a extra battery. My will last about 23 min. I'm hoping to get extra one this year for Christmas. Nice looking pictures.
