We've had a welcome guest at our house working on the suet balls. It sure is a spectacular sight in contrast with the snow an cold that we are getting.

The wood furnace is cooking away and it is 78 degrees in the house, however my daughters wood furnace blower motors froze up, so my son brought out our oil furnace blower that he'll install tomorrow. Her furnace was built with two blower motors with capacitors on each, so he's pulling them out and installing a single big blower motor, which will give her a lot more air thru the registers. It will also save her $600.00+ for two blower motors on a furnace around 7 yrs old. The prices are a joke. Any way I got to help a little bit on it for cleaning and disassembly, reassembly on the oil furnace blower.

Now for my health,I had a blister on my right heel the size of quarter that my son has been helping me doctor, it healed up fine, couldn't understand why the blister appeared. Come to find out I was rubbing my foot on the bed covers at night, and I didn't want it to be necessary to amputate due to diabetes. Both feet look like normal now, been wearing light socks to bed with medication on my feet. I have to take care of them, thats the only feet I have, both are 81 yrs old.

Getting a lot of snow and extreme cold weather 20 below zero not counting wind chill. I hope everybody's fine and keeping warm and in good health.

The pictures are of the Phineas woodpecker, our lonesome dove in the summer along with the apple tree in bloom in the spring. We have a lot of Gods creatures show up to keep this old man entertained. My son is trying to shorten the honey-do list, since the wife is gone, he's quite a remarkable man.

Regards,
LOU

Hello Lou,glad to hear your son's helping out. Stay warm and send us pics if more of God's creatures drop in on you. BTW,those in blue shirts behind the apple tree are always my favorites when they come to see me.

Thank you for posting these, I too think birds are beautiful.

A word about your furnace blowers: you may want to take a hard look at how that unit runs before you make your change. Redundant blowers are a good idea in an appliance where you can't shut off fuel, like a wood furnace. Having half the airflow might be enough to prevent a meltdown- just a thought.

Finally, I'm glad to hear you're taking care of yourself, I've not always agreed with everything you've posted, but I wish ill on no man and it does me good to hear about you and your family. Stay healthy-

Very nice pics. We have two pairs of those huge Pileated woodpeckers out in our woods/yard that come up to suet and dead trees every day.

Anybody see that photo on the internet, they found some amber segments with dinosaur FEATHERS inside. It may be the cute birdies we're looking at are predator dinosaurs. Just not big enough to eat US!! Something else to be thankful for this season???

Funny you mention bird pics. Ground was covered with snow. Sun melted snow off deck and a small strip of ground next to house. Birds where having a feeding frenzy scratching in the ground looking for something to eat. Then they CRAPPED all over the deck and the side of the house.
Boss wasn't very happy. I told her not to worry, the birds were just fertilizing your flower beds.

Good to hear from you. I was thinking of you yesterday when I was bringing in wood for the boiler. How is your wood pile holding out?? I have burned around 3 cord of wood since fireing the boiler back in the middle of Oct. Lots of snow here also. I'm glad the wood shed is adjacent to the boiler, and wood is all under cover.
Good to hear that your son is there to keep you on the straight and narrow. HeHe
Best wishes to you and family. Have a great holiday season.

Lou, good to see you posting again. Nice to see your pics. I think that I have problems and then I get on the forum and realize that I am not the only one and some are worse than mine. Good luck and realize that tomorrow is another day to enjoy what life gives us. Stay warm and find things to talk to us about.

Nice shots!! That's a Pileated? There was one in my yard a couple of years ago pulling apart a rotten stump looking for bugs or worms.
