Picked up a Ford 8n today no battery and a lot of wires loose. It has an alternator with one wire hooked to the back and a plug on the side with those wires heading toward the switch. I am assuming it has been changed to 12 volt would anyone have a digram of how it should be wired with that type of alternator. I fixed one like that on a John Deere m awhile back but I think you guys helped me can't remember exactly what I did thanks for any help. I will post a few pic tomorrow was already dark when I got it home today
 
Have to agree, you will get more and better help on the N board of these forums. Run it up the flagpole over there and folks will help you get it goin.
 
Yep, 12V but that's a three wire alternator. Probably 10si style.
Does it have a front mount distributor or a side mount?
The wiring is a little bit different between the two.
