7130 magnum

Any way to turn up the hydraulic pressure on one of these. It just doesn't pick up the corn planter fast enough . Kinze 3600 planter. Had it checked last year by case and it wasn't far from new spec's . . Checked screen and was nice and clean. filters been maintained.. Steering isn't as fast as the 4440 we also have. 444o will pick up planter better than 7130 and that doesn't seem right. or is something else going on.
thanks

If pressures are comparable between the two tractors, the volume displacement must be the difference. In a solid performing hydraulic system, the positive displacement pump flows at a constant GPM. If one is slow it displaces less per revolution. I do not know if there is a alternative higher displacement pump for the Magnum. Jim

If you are talking about the remote there is a flow control on each lever there is a cable down to each valve, that cable get rusty and stiff so just go under the cab and move it with a wrench keep in mind not to force it as I think that there is a stop on them, the cable needs to be removed in order to get them flexible again they take a set to them so I oiled mine. I wish there was a update to that design. Bob

It has a pressure and flow compensated hydraulic system, you can adjust the flow on each valve.

I can't remember exactly but it seems if there is a problem with the sensing line to the valve block the flow settings won't work right. If you haven't turned the flow up at the valves start there.

have turned up the flo to max. not just with cable. went under the right side and made sure they turned all the way with wrench.

You need to get someone to put a flow rater on and check the actual flow on each valve against the specs. That tractor should lift faster than the Deere you specify. I worked on both models years ago. The steering will never be as fast as the Deere though.

Does it act the same on all remotes or just the one, the compensator signal line fitting has a screen in it make sure it's clean

Did you try switching the lift to different remotes? I ran and air seeder on a 7140 and initially had problems with it lifting with the fan running and wings plugged in. Switching around lift to different remotes I eventuallly got it working good. You can adjust the flow for each remote under the cab as well as on the little levers in the cab. I can't remember exactly but I think the operators manual explains it.

All specs were good when it was checked out? Make sure that low pressure stand-by is where it should be. Make sure it's within spec. Too low and it can cause the oddest issues, too high and the pump won't de-stroke fast enough. If low pressure stand-by pressure is good, hook a pressure gauge to the appropriate remote and see what it does. You can turn the pressure up on the pressure compensator. Max pressure at the remote should be something like 75-100 less than max system pressure. The compensator is on the back of the pump, and both the low pressure stand-by and max system pressure are adjusted there. The max system pressure adjustment is normally wired in place from the factory. The low pressure stand is not. The max system pressure adjustment screw is very sensitive. At least it is on a Maxxum. Like 100 psi more pressure with a 1/8 turn.
