You have to change the dash or put battery in the frame or outside of fram. I have seen a late 40,s seat on one too.

I bought the parts from a man in Missouri. Pd $200 for a flywheel, starter, tramsmission top, flywheel gard. My tractor is a '44A. Put the battery in the right front frame rail. Didnt change the hood at all. "correct",No. Works, yes. No generator, but it works great. Just charge it every 6 months or so.

I plan on building one on a smaller scale for my JD H. My arthritis in my hands is making it harder for me to turn the flywheel. I use the tractor a lot and hope to for many years.

here is one I have available. the flywheel has been changed having ring gear and the starter bracket is attached with the start button pressed with your foot. the seat is removed and one with a battery box is installed
