The original subject was "New Kid on the forum".

Well it is winter in Saskatchewan and the Farmall H is cooling in the unheated quonset so not even tempted to play. But I am still looking for the Hood Latch J hooks and springs. Thought I had a line on a set but that turned out to be wishful thinking. Anybody know where I could get a set or anybody have a parts bin that includes these? Thanks, Jack

I sent all of my remaining H parts to an auction this spring, but afterward I found 3 used hooks with springs and mounting brackets off a hood I had scrapped. If I can still find them you can have them all for $5 plus postage if you'd like them.

I made a replacement for a missing one on my MD. Can't tell which is original and which one I made. Pretty easy to do if you have at least one to use as a pattern.

Same here.
I made three for my M. Only one was in decent shape to use as a pattern.
I used 1/4" bar stock and cold bent it. I bought springs at the local hardware store.
Couple of the brackets were worn through. I made new brackets from bar stock metal and welded them in place.

Hi. I now have a set of hooks/springs. What I don't have is the tractor easily available. It is 7 hours from me. I know the brackets also need to be replaced. I will make those here but... I don't have dimensions. Can you tell me the size of stock to use, the length of the section to be welded to the hood, the length of the top/bottom section and the drill bit size for the holes and how far the hole is from the end of the bracket. I assume the bends are 90 degrees. Is that correct? Seems like a lot of questions for a simple job. Appreciate the help. Cheers, Jack
