Heading out right now. Anyone who wants to come along can meet me at the pile....

I will if you will help me. Put cows back in a pasture. In the pouring rain. I know one cow that is going to the sale barn Monday.

Neither of those jobs sound fun. It's not snowing here and (I think) all of the cows are in. I do have to go pump off the gas well so there's hot water around here. Thats a once a year job and it appears I put it off until a nice rainy day. Planning!

Looks just like that here in MN today, and I was pondering the same thought of going to the woods this morning to cut some more firewood. I
decided to go with the family to church, then go cut a load after the noon meal. About 30 degrees here now, but predicting temps in the single
digits and wind hills in the -15 range by the end of the week.

All I have to do is step out the side door of my shop to the enclosed woodshed and carry in a days supply. It is far more enjoyable to cut wood summer days rather than all bundled up wollaring in snow to cut firewood.
I will raise a cold one to you, and think about your efforts this afternoon when I take a break in the shop. Have fun.

Oh I don't need the wood, but something about the first snow of the year always makes me wonder if I have enough. Doesn't matter that I probably have about 4 years supply.....

But it was just too nasty. I came back in!

No thinks, I want to be in the shop when it looks like that out the window. Try and do the wood
cutting in the fall. I am ahead enough that it isn't for that year, but for the next year or
better. I guess in the spring with mud and being tired of cold and feeding the stove I wait till
fall when it is a little cooler than summer.

Growing up with the winters of the 60's in central New York going off to the woods was just about every Saturday for us no matter what the weather was. It is amazing how much nicer the weather can be in the
middle of a nice woods compared to working on the edge of the woods when the weather is bad.Its hard to beat a wood fire on days like that once you get in the house.

I cut some in the last couple of weeks, perfect conditions, 25 degrees, the ground is froze and dry. Your feet don't get wet, no bugs, and
you don't sweat too much!

I told my wife a week ago that was going to get wood on the 4th, came in today and said it can wait till tomorrow, I
have plenty also but it is going to get cold and need some cut for the neighbor lady.

(quoted from post at 14:26:13 12/04/16) The 50 looks up to the task. Them 2 cylinders were excellent in snow. With chains they are unstoppable.

It's a Super 50, or 60 if you like!

Yup, the only place for a fence jumper is in the freezer. Hopefully BEFORE the darn old battleaxe has taught the rest of them to start running fences!
