New to me. Non-running International harvester 3500a 4 cyl diesel hydro. The fuel line that is on it now runs from tank to injector pump with an in line fuel filter. Don't want to spend a lot on it until I know it runs. My question is how do I bleed the system to make it run? Bottom of tank is 16" off the ground, top of tank is 28" from ground, fuel lines come out the top of the tank, injector pump fuel inlet is 27" from ground and top of fuel filters( right side of motor) is 27". No lift pump on block! No holes, or a place on the block for one. Will not gravity feed. Can't just keep on cranking on it. Thanks Dale

The 'lift pump' may be part of the injection pump. You may need to put an electric fuel pump inline to prime the injection pump. It should have more than an inline filter. Someone has removed the factory filters.

Ih case said to watch the pressure on an electric pump against the bosch injector pump. He had no answers.

I believe that it would have had a manual primer pump located either at the injector pump or at the filter assembly. If it was mine, I think I would put back the stock or an aftermarket filter assembly with a manual fuel pump. Some engine driven lift pumps also had a manual pump handle. Should be least expensive to try put it back to stock setup.

I had a 3414 I and it had a small lever operated fuel pump. Similar to the ones on older cars. It was only to push fuel through the filter and had a small lever on it for priming. There was a bleed screw on the filter bracket. You pumped it until fuel ran there then open the connection at injector pump and pumped until it ran. Then cranked the starter till it started.

As a way to get it running in the short-term you can take some shop rags and hold an air hose into the fuel tank and put 3 to 5 PSI pressure on it. Crack the connection at the injector pump and it should push fuel through the system real fast.

I would think that a 3 psi or less electric pump would be fine for it, but couldn't guarantee it. I would think that it would run long enough on residual fuel to run an electric pump off an oil pump switch so there's no forgetting and accidently somehow leaving it on. Worthington probably has the original fuel filter holders, brackets, etc kicking around somewhere for reasonable if yours are missing.

Part of your problem finding information here here is that it's an IH INDUSTRIAL tractor, not a farm tractor.

That portion of the business went to Dresser, then Komatsu. A CaseIH dealer won't be of much help, but unfortunately a Komatsu-Dresser dealer won't either because those machines are so old, and produced in limited quantities.

You definitely need some sort of fuel filtration system, and to at least see if it will run, you could hook up a temporary tank mounted above the engine.
