JD Seller, question for you (and others)

Neighbour of mine is looking at a John Deere 6605 with 5500hrs for his chore tractor. Just wondering what your thoughts are. Tractor has loader, 3 point hitch, cab, and mud... not too worried about the engine, but is the rest of the tractor ok? Will be used for cattle feeding and baling/ hay making.
Thanks.

Depends on if it has a dry clutch or wet. The John Deere's around here with dry clutches and loaders go thru clutches fairly regular. The 5000"s were dry, I don't know about the 6000's.

The JD 6605 is a plain Jane type of tractor. Not closed center hydraulics but good pressure galley open center. It could have a power reverser transmission or it could be a straight manual. With either transmission it would have a wet main drive clutch. 95 PTO horse power too.

Here is how it went when I sold the 05 series tractors. If the buyer had JD 4020s or JD 4430s they where happy with the 05 series tractors. IF they owned 7000 and 8000 series tractors they usually did not like the 05 series tractors.

So it he is looking for a simple no frills tractor he should like it.

Sounds perfect for him, he has a 4020 loader tractor and a 4230 with a loader too, but is looking for a mfd tractor. Thanks for you help and input
I appreciate your time and knowledge.
