See a lot of people say they have quit ebay. So what have you replaced it with other than local craigslist?

Depends. For used stuff, I'll look at online auctions. New stuff, I'll use Zoro, Amazon or go directly to a company's website. Still a lot of companies whose websites are just a page or 2 of sales bluster with no way to buy their products online. I close those pages real quick.

Amazing how easy it is to buy stuff online. Recently purchased replacement remotes for an F150 for $ 10 for a pair. Got them in 4 days, programmed in about 1 minute. Was so pleased, I just bought spare keys for my daughters car as well as mine from the same site. $19.95 each.

I've sold a few items on craigslist and some of those people seem to be low class in my book. I did have a pair of mating front house doors on CL and a man came to buy them last Sunday. He was a contractor and wanted them for an office in their home they just bought.

Seems that Facebook took over a lot of things. There are tons of stuff being sold and listed on the various different groups. Also discussion on repairs and such. You can see even on this site it has slowed down a lot... I'll be honist and say I haven't even been on YT for a long time. Just not as much action.

Amazon to buy new stuff. Patience to buy used stuff. CL to buy/sell farm related stuff.

I avoid eBay like the plague.

There is no substitute for ebay really especially the variety of new parts and the amount of sellers there.Ebay will almost always end up having a seller offering things at the best price.
I've been buying from sellers there both large and small for a lot of years with no real problem.

I am a collector of a couple of things. Ebay is the only place I can go to that has what I look for without having to travel all over the country. Always sent directly to my home. Postage is cheaper than fuel. A lot of other things I look for are easier to find on that site.

Facebook selling pages are a pain. There are too many tire kickers that offer to buy or lowball you and never show up. They get booted , just go on to the next group. I still use Ebay ,craigs list and facebook for selling stuff. Amazon for buying new . Lot of super deals for auto parts . Front axle disconnect for trailblazers. $1100 dealer , Parts store Dorman 599, Amazon, Dorman unit $275,other remans with actuator 255-355.

It use to be back in the 1990s if you use Ebay, Google, and other sites. you would take a risk of getting a virus in the computer. I have never had to go to those sites and I would like to say I really do not know what I am missing out on. My hobby is already expensive as it is and my friends tell me they found it on those sites but I can see they spend just as much as I. The last time I bought a tractor part it coast me two times more on those sites than if I had called a salvage yard.

The same here....I find stuff on ebay that I could drive a million
miles and never find at a flea market, toy show,an auction,etc..
Its allowed me to purchase items that I thought that I would never
own and its so easy to do without ever leaving the house..

ive never got a virus from ebay or amazon, maybe some spam, but thats why we have a spam folder, my wife is a computer programmer so ours are pretty safe from them anyway, she knows what to put on these things to protect them, i dont, being as i play with old tractors and trucks and cars, and im out west, thats a problem, there arnt any salvage yards out here for this stuff, most of the old trucks got crushed during the scrap metal boom a few years ago, even the dead rows at construction companies and gravel pits got cleaned out mostly , one place used to have 15 old trucks from the 50's to the late 70's now theres only one old firetruck, and it will run, a junk yard down in roswell was sold out, everything went and they had a lot, there never were any old tractor scrap yards, most of those are still being udes or died on the places they used to be used, the problem is finding those without getting shot for trespassing, lol so ebay and amazon are the only places to find used original pieces, or new chinese knockoffs

Indirect answer to the question: I like to shop ebay. I think it's very well policed and safe. I've gone through several hundred purchases for my hobbies and other things and I can count on 1 hand any questionable dealings and they were all resolved (with ebay watching and following up) to both our satisfactions.

Ebay is a convenience where you can get a part sent to you . A rare or obsolete part . It doesn't matter it is still offered on eBay. I could not restore stuff as easily with out eBay. If I get a bad seller I give bad feedback. Ebay has almost any part you need.

I am in western KS, I buy and sell on NEX TECH FREE CLASSIFIEDS, I have had very good luck with them, never bought anything on Craigs List
