I am work on a 21 fordson for some one I know. The tank has 2 places that are seaping a little fuel, very little. He wants to use that white tank liner in it. I need to get it good and clean first. What kind of ideas yall have to clean them? Also worried about cleaning it to good and it make the seep worse. Let me know what you think.

Use a soldering copper and solder the holes.
Clean it up well and use flux.
I did that on my 8N years ago; it is still good.

I have used jb weld or gas tank repair kit.
Here's one for sale.

This stuff below has been the gold standard in the old car community almost forever. Single component stuff (not a 2-component system like
some) and it works great. You can do two coats if you wish, once usually is sufficient. Air dries but is pretty stinky, not sure what is in
it. Don't do it in the kitchen for sure. White in color and probably the "white stuff" mentioned. No great amount of cleaning needed, the
tank must be dry of course and as much flaky rust removed as possible but no need for anything more than that. I've used it on a tank on an
old truck and on several tractor tanks with good success.

Jdr315,

No joke, I run offroad trucks and a fellow had pierced a rusty tank from something we did not find.

With gas dripping from the tank, we mixed a gas compatible epoxy mix and slapped it on the tank.

It was sealed in less than a half hour. It's been several years, and he's still running it, leak free.

I am not a snake-oil kind of guy, but that stuff worked. Maybe JB?
