I bought some mud flaps off Ebay last week, this is the detailed tracking log. Estimated delivery was last Monday....they probably went within a mile of my house last Friday on their way 300+ miles west of me...

Well now that they handed it over to USPS I suspect it will go to Alaska first before it gets to me....

I ordered a dashcam 2 days later and have had it for 3 days already, the rear mudflaps came yesterday (I ordered them 2 days after these), and they came from Michigan. This is the longest tracking list I have ever seen...so far :)

Yep!!!!! That semi might of been just a mile from you on the free-way but he was not going to stop to make a local delivery. Kind of like asking an airline captain to let you off at your local airport as he is
going to be flying right over your house anyway. They all have their system and for the most part works quite well. Visit the FedEx center in Memphis or UPS in Louisville sometime and it will boggle your
mind to see how efficient that they really are. They handle several million packages in just a matter of a few hours.

(quoted from post at 15:29:31 11/23/16) I think they actually travelled farther than you think, as MS is Mississippi, MI is Michigan!
One set from MI (ordered two days later and already here), one set from MS....which are taking the long route....

Usually Spokane is a stop...I must have been the only order for there this time so they didn't stop :-(

Actually I think the truck probably stopped in Spokane, but my package forgot to get off...probably got misplaced somewhere along the line.

I bought a book through Amazon couple of years ago, started in Indianapolis, IN. and only needed to go south on I-65
to Nashville, TN. and 50 miles west to my place. The package was given to FedEx who took it for a scenic tour,
Southhaven MS is one of there hubs just south of Memphis TN. After I called several times asking "what is
happening", it suddenly showed arrived in Vanleer on the 17th and back in Southhaven on the 18th for another week.
Then Amazon shipped a replacement through UPS, arrived on the 3rd day. The FedEx book did arrive by USPS, three
weeks after it shipped, Amazon told me to keep it as an apology. This is the part of the tracking details that I
saved. Vanleer is where it was supposed to go.
Tracking Details:

Something to do with "free" shipping I suppose. I live in Missouri and ordered from Amazon, free shipping. Took 9 days from Los Angeles. Ordered teaching materials from a ministry in Los Angeles. No shipping mentioned from the ministry as they were available on a donation basis only. Took 3 days USPS. Approximately the same weight on both packages. They may have a system but I don't think they've factored in how much all that handling is costing them.

I order thousands of dollars worth of items online every year.
Your experience is exactly the reason I will not deal with any
company that does not offer a shipping method other than FedEx.

And yes, I'll pay extra for a different option if I have to, but
what I have been told is some companies enter an exclusive
agreement with a carrier to get a better price, then they can't
use anyone else. Unless, of course, FedEx "Smart" post decides
to take it miles out of the way to drop it off with the USPS.

The USPS puts FedEx to shame time-wise.
Shipments from my home in Michigan to Montana have taken
as little as two days and no longer than five counting a weekend.

My son in law is the chief engineer in charge of all mechanical at the Memphis hub. He comes in talking abut damage per thousand run thru the sort. It is always down in the point 2 or 3 hundredth. Going out there a 11 at night and staying to 2 or so in the morning is just mind boggling to see what comes thru that hub in less than 5 hrs.

Three or four years a go I bought a toy tractor off ebay. I live in Nebraska. The toy was in Colorado. The toy was shipped
Priority mail 2-3 day. The toy went from Colorado to Iowa. Then it went to California were it sat for three days. Then went to
Arizonia then to Nebraska. Took over a week.

I bought Weather Tech floor mats for my 2914 Escape online from Auto Anything. They were drop shipped from Weather Tech Fed Ex shipping. They were here in NE Minnesota yesterday, the 22nd. I thought that was great. I once ordered a trailer hitch from Auto Anything It came the next day by FedEx. It was a Curt brand hitch.

Yeah I usually have great luck and get my stuff a couple of days before they estimate its arrival. I know some of it had to be drop shipped from the Spokane area as it was on my doorstep the next day! The sellers listed their location back east.

Was looking for the best price on a John Deere book and found it on a web site for a few bucks less than a JD dealer. When I went to check out they added $30.00 for shipping a $20.00 5 ounce book. Needless to say I quickly bailed out of that mess.

I am about 15 minutes outside of Tulsa and usually do not have any trouble with either UPS or FedEx. Have had UPS deliver to the wrong place a couple times but FedEx always seems to find me.

I noticed that too for domestic purchases. When it comes from overseas it gets here a lot faster considering the distance and all. Some
suppliers are really impressive even with free shipping.

Well it made it to my post office...probably get a notice to go pick it up instead of delivering it. Only 5 days overdue....
