WOW! Talk about about being old....

But look at it this way, he's only 24 years older than you and you know how fast the years go by.

I'm 72 (can hardly believe it)& graduated in '62. Here's my chance to interject a thought that hit me yesterday... I asked my wife, "do any of the companies like Sears still make Christmas catalogues?" Waaaaayyyy back when there were several Christmas catalogues that came in the mail. It was EXCITING for a kid to look through and see the toys. The pictures of trains were taken at floor level so they looked real! Kids nowadays miss some GOOD things we had back then. I wish I'd saved a few of those old catalogues including the regular ones to look through now. Anyone else remember those?

I did a little checking and found www.wishbookweb.com Neat site, it lists lots of old Christmas catalogues and each one has EVERY PAGE of that issue. Here's a page from a '58 Sears.

I was born in the last century. My dad never made it to high school but he made sure his siblings did . My mom graduated in 1926 . By the way my grandfather was born in 1865 the year the civil war ended my grandmother was 1879. If you really want to stretch it one of grandpa's uncle's fought in Russia with napoleon that figures out to two generations every century.

My dad graduated 1938. An old skiing buddy of mine celebrated his 105th birthday earlier this year.

The story I heard was that vets got a good pension and that made them a good catch so younger girls would be married off for the pension.

My Dad graduated Oakway High School in 1933 and Clemson A@M College in 1937. I graduated Clemson University in 1977.

Thank you for posting that site! I appreciate it.

Another page. My cousin had one of those wind up dozers. Once in a grocery store there was one of those large tin 4 engine planes I begged mom for but didn't get. You can zoom in on these to see and read better.

. I only got a 5Th. grade education But I never stoped learning. Still read a lot. Any way when I got hired at Chemical Leaman Tank Lines you were supposed to have a high school education. About 3 years later they found out that I didn't have high school but was a good enough driver that they wouldn't fire me. One day the Terminal Manager old Ed Hall ask me, Just how far did you go to school ? Well I said about 3 miles but I didn't have to walk because the teacher went past our farm and I got a ride to the old 1 room school. Old Ed Hall s
laughed and said ask a stupid question and get a stupid answer. LOL

Teasing alert! Might be a 'reality show' trophy wife for Hollyweird producer or oold film star that saved some money. Couple cultures have second and third wives that age for old men that have the assets- the nnalert example of their prophet's last wife is even younger. Might be a smart young lady- the recent joke about 60 year old marrying 18 year old- he sort of lied about age he told friend. friend asked if he said he was 40, might pass for that? No, said I was 80 and had million dollar life insurance policy. warned ya.
