674 International axle housing dowel pin removal

Doing a brake job on a 674 International tractor, while taking the axle housings off broke the bottom dowel pin on both sides, how is the best and or easiest way (if there is such a way) to get these out of the housings.

I broke one when I rebuilt my 584,i welded a 5-16 bolt to the end of the broken dowel pin and I have a puller you can put a vise-grip on and pulled out with little effort. I think the little bit of heat for welding the bolt on helped.

I was sorta thinking that way, didn't think a drill bit would ever touch it, a bad design on IH part, the top dowel the gasket goes around it but not the bottom, it's exposed to the elements, when going back together anti seze and silicone will be used, thank for posting back
