Old fuel tank ??

I'm assuming this is an old fuel tank. Maybe a starting fuel tank for a tractor? It has a large glass piece in the end that is in good shape.
Anybody know what this came off of. Found it in the woods.

More likely the tank from an old home heater that ran on kerosene. The glass viewer let you see how much was left. When I was a little kid there was an old kero heater in the back shop. Always stunk like really old kerosene. Had a little rod on the side with a float that went up and down as the level changed. The stuff they used to make would scare the poop out of us today.

I am thinking sprayer tank. remember dad had similar for use in garden. The siphon pump screwed on then pumped.

When I was a kid we had a kerosene range with a tank similar to that. About the same as Jeffcat said
