Driving to the doctor this morning, met this coming the other way. 260 tons of transformer being moved between 2 local power stations. Our roads developed to take horses and carts, not this!!

Those are amazing machines. The weight is distributed on so many tires it didn't hurt your road surface and sometimes things just have to get from one place to another.

we were in your neighbors land to the west (Ireland) in June.

went down one country road that i swear the hedges clipped both mirrors on our mid-sized rental car. it was a 2 direction road!

Phil, I've spent quite a bit of time in Norfolk county over the last ten years. I know exactly what you mean by 'country lane' - one lane. When your not dodging cars or lorrys your dodging pheasants.

Very interesting, would have been fun to watch. In the USA there would have been 10 "oversized load" signs and maybe as many official cars and pickups with flashing lights leading and following.
