Getting a Little Field Work Done

Hooked up the boys to the forecart and 2 section harrow and spent some time harrowing the manure piles down in the feedlot today. Those big horses can lay down several large landmines when they want to. Seems like they never go out in the pasture, but wait until they come into the lot to deposit them..lol. At any rate it was a good workout for them, even though they just played with the harrow. Bob

I've been through that as well. Sorta like loosing a friend. Hope you can find another one. Was it a mate or just a single. Bob

She was a mate. She matched the other mare almost perfectly. Both mares had half-sister colts on them. The other mare adopted her colt and feeds both of them now. they are about ready to wean. I don't know if I will try to buy another right now because they are pretty high for an old boy like me. I have a team of mules I can use if I need something matched. I also have a gelding I can use with my remaining mare. I hope the fillies will match.

I noticed that you have a comfy forecart...even has springs! I sold a grain drill to an Amish farmer, and his cart did not have a seat...he had to stand up all day long.

I am glad you enjoy them, I have never gotten to excited about horses. I have been thinking of getting my daughter a horse to ride around, she rides her grandparents horses, her grandpa was a quarter horse judge and traveled all around the states to judge shows.
