When I work I sweat. Alot. Doesn't matter if it is warm or cold, I sweat. The problem is I am far sighted and I am having to wear my glasses more and more to work on tractors and such. Inevitably, the sweat falls onto the glasses and I cannot see. I spend a disproportionate amount of time toweling off and cleaning my glasses. Hats and bandannas become saturated. Does anyone have any advice as to how they deal with this problem?

Perhaps ask your wife to fan you with palm fronds as you work. If she really loved you she would. Just joking around here. In seriousness now, Do contacts work for you? I don't have any practical experience in the matter so I'm probably no help

With contacts, I am restricted to near vision, as I would be correcting for farsightedness. That would mean everything within 3 feet is focused and everything beyond is out, making even walking difficult.

I do like the idea of someone waving a banana palm over me.

Wear a bandana tied around your head and positioned over your forehead to absorb sweat. Might also consult your doctor, excessive sweating may be a symptom of something more serious and fixable.

Is it recent, or always been like that? May want to get a heart check up. I did that before i had a widowmaker. Better to be on the safe side.

I had to have cataract surgery three years ago.
Cataracts were bad enough it was like trying to see thru a shower curtain.
A lens for close up was put in my left eye.
A lens for distance was put in my right eye later.
Somehow the brain figures it out, so my vision is 20/20.

Sports sweat bands are far more absorbent than a bandanna and are modestly elastic for staying put. (and you look sporting) Jim

I sweat a lot too. Cold is a little better but it stays hot here in the deep south way too long. The older I've got, the worse it gets. I really hate the winter and going to work as people always set the thermostat at 75F or so. I ask them if they keep it that warm at home and they always say no. I wear very light clothes in the winter or summer. I started tearing up towels many years ago and using them as a head band. Works great to keep the sweat out of the eyes. I do look a little like Karate Kid with it on and tied in the back and riding around on the tractor...lol Just adds to my "I'm the crazy guy "to the neighbors image of me.

I also wear a sweatband. In hot weather I carry three of them to a jobsite so I can change them out when they get too soaked.

As others have said, a sports sweat band, and I will add try a Helmet Halo. They have a "dam" at the bottom that chanels the sweat to the sides. Trouble is you may need the air flow of a moving bike to make it work, but worth a try. Search on "Helmet Halo sweat band".

I agree you should get checked by Dr. I sweat a lot and I have a couple of head bands that have some type of pellets in them that you are to put in cool water before you put them on, .I put them on dry and let the pellets soak up the sweat. Work pretty good. Bob

Get a 2nd opinion on the contacts. I sweat a lot and also am far sighted. Bausch and Lomb 'multi-focal' contacts work great for me. They are like continuously focusing bi-focal glasses. There are other brands of multi-focals out there as well. the days are past when you had to choose to see near or far when you wear contacts. I am 65, have worn contacts now for 7 years and would never give them up It is like having two good eyes again.

Hi, I sweat a lot when I am picking peaches or apricots. It could be a hundred or more degrees. I wear glasses too. I wear a head band. I have 3 that I change between. Ed WillOliver BC wine capital

I actually don't mind the sweat. I wear jeans, boots, long sleeve shirts all year round. The sweat keeps me cool and I dress in layers. Not uncommon for me to start with a t-shirt, long-sleeve t-shirt and sweatshirt in the morning in the summer and just peel off as the day gets warmer . I wear a Michigan baseball cap (GoBlue) that keeps it out of my eyes.

I wear a "farmer's" cap. They are 100% cotton so they absorb and evaporate much more sweat than synthetic fiber caps. I should probably say that most people call them "engineer's" caps

I am the same. A sports sweat band is my go to. In cool to cold weather I get soaked quickly and then get cold. It really sucks, I have been like this all my life. This is one reason I went to school so I could work at a desk. As a weekend warrior I soak a lot of clothes. Paul

Used contacts many years. Only problem was dust. Wore goggles when baling hay. Got lasic done at 58. Learned at 74 it's not a life time fix. Back to glasses now, but not the coke bottle ones I used to wear that caused sore nose from sweating.
