Styrofoam Bee-Bee's

Mostly every package I receive shipped via FedEx is packed with styrofoam peanuts.

And when I pack a carburetor or magneto for shipping I use those peanuts,
and or sometimes styrofoam blocks cut to fit inside the box.

Does someone know of a way to kill the static electricity in styrofoam?

It makes a mess on the shipping/receiving table and on the floor every time.

Get yourself a heavy duty room humidifyer. Crank it up as high as you can stand. In large bildings they sprinkle brass or copper dust in the carpets to knock down static. I knew a place that did a lot of packing and they had misters in the shipping area. Kinda makes a thin fog in the air. They were the ultrasonic type. Almost look like those VAPE cigarrette things.

Thanks, I'll have to figure something out.

Don't you just hate it when you open a box a little overpacked
and styrofoam peanuts just go everywhere? Aaarrrrg😁

Unless you are doing it on purpose as a gag. Lol!

Did it to a cousin of mine years ago. I stomped those boogers into the box until it took nearly a whole roll of duct tape to hold the box shut. (2ft X 2ft X 3ft tall box) What was I shipping to her? A letter taped to the bottom of the box. She opened the box on the living room floor. (chuckle) She got even, though. She wrote a 5 page letter back and cut it into a jigsaw puzzle...................

We filled a fellows truck cab with them. The clean up was a bad enough pain, but for the next year he would have an occasional reminder float out from the heating/ cooling duct.

We got rid of peanuts several years ago. Virtually none of the companies we buy from use them anymore either. Just about everyone uses bubble wrap or paper. Mcmaster Carr uses paper. Digikey uses a paper packing that looks like expanded metal with tissue paper lining. I hate it. Can't tell if anything is wrapped in it and I've almost thrown away parts by accident.
